GREEN SILVER AWARD! This award was recently given to ‘Studio
Cottage’.
Bookings are now being taken for this charming self-catering
stable conversion within the ‘Seahorses’ grounds. Suitable for a family of 5, Studio Cottage offers a double,
twin bedroom and a single bedroom/study. The open-plan sitting room/dining room/kitchen overlooks part of the garden and orchard.
The enclosed garden means that the property is pet-friendly. If you are a family with small children we also have a larger
two and a half acre garden to play in. There is off-road parking.
Studio Cottage is situated next to Seahorses Art Studio,
and so is perfect for residential Art Courses by arrangement with Boris, (our resident artist). Some families come at half-terms
for this reason. In addition to the above, we offer Art & Craft Course facilities, if required.
Nearby is a wide range of local facilities, such as a
Sports Centre, supermarkets, a garden centre with village shops, pubs and cafés all within ten minutes walk.
Freshwater Bay
is about a fifteen minutes walk away by public footpath or a few minutes by car with a footpath leading onto the coastal paths
of the National Trust just a few minutes away. Within ten minutes car journey there is a huge variety of natural features;
chalk cliffs, downland, beaches, bays, harbours, salt estuaries, farms and woodland. This landscape offers so much to both
the naturalist and to those more inclined to active outdoor sports.
Over the years we have had many new and repeat visitors
representing a wide variety of holiday makers; bird-watchers, golfers, walkers, cyclists, para-gliders, artists and crafts
people to name but a few.

THE WEST WIGHT
The West Wight, with its Areas of Outstanding
Natural Beauty is not only for those who enjoy the beautiful landscape or tranquil feel of the area, combined with its sandy
coves and numerous attractions, it appeals to everyone. The coastal paths offer endless walks with striking scenery, a great
place for nature lovers. Visit Alum
Bay, noted for its iconic ‘Needles’ attraction or take the
‘Tennyson Trail’ along the coastal path. The sandy beach of Compton Bay is complemented by the quaint coves of Freshwater
Bay, and the nearby Totland Bay and Colwell Bay
offering swimming, surfing and other water sports for all the family.
The popular
town of Yarmouth with its array of fantastic shops, restaurants, and pubs complements the surrounding villages and is
host to the ‘Old Gaffers Festival’, one of but a few dates on the calendar not to be missed.
The pretty village of Shorwell is known for its thatched
roof cottages and historic buildings. The local Crown Inn dates back the 16th century with the local chapel dating
back to the 12th century. The area allows access to local footpaths within the surrounding woodlands.
Brighstone, with its coastline having been designated as a Heritage
Coast and Site of Special Scientific Interest is partly owned by the
National Trust. The village dates back to 1190, adding to its historical feel and complementing its pretty thatched cottages.

ferry from Southampton to East Cowes
