Isle of Wight Walking Festival. One of the largest festivals in the UK, it offers walks for all ages and abilities with over 200 walks over well-kept footpaths. The island, half of which has been declared an Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty, is a walker's paradise and has a lot to offer the whole family.

25th - 27th
Old Gaffers Festival. Yarmouth Quayside is the venue for the 16th Annual festival, a weekend of entertainment which lures many sailing and motor boats to the beautiful harbour and on land you will be find a show of classic vehicles and many other attactions which brings thousands of visitors and locals to this fantastic three day event.
June
22nd - 24th
Isle of Wight Festival - Seaclose Park Newport. This legendary music festival spread over 3 days has featured some of the old and new stars in rock music including David Bowie, The Rolling Stones and Coldplay. This years headliners include Kaiser Chiefs, The Script, Pixie Lott and many more.

30th

J P Morgan Round the Island Race - With over 1,500 boats crewed by celebrities and amateurs alike, this race starts from Cowes,  past The Needles,  taking in other popular reference points before heading back into the Solent. Great event to watch for sailors and visitors alike.

23rd
Last Night of the Proms. Osbourne House.  A fantastic evening out, sharing all the usual classics - Pomp and Circumstance and Jerusalem amongst many other British classics. Bring a picnic and end with a fantastic fireworks finale to finish off a wonderful night!!

20th - 22nd

Rhythm Tree Festival - This three day event is set in a beautiful, rural location with camping areas nearby. It is growing in popularity and offers festival goers an interesting mix of music. So if you are into folk, rock, blues or any other music, this is the place to be!!

6th - 8th

Folk Station Festival, Havenstreet - A festival of great music, dancing and lots more on this action packed weekend aimed at all the family. Camping is available on-site. Tickets will be on sale in due course.

18th & 19th
Isle of Wight Garlic Festival. Newchurch. This has plenty for everyone, not only garlic lovers. It offers good entertainment, refreshements, a wide range of local produce and over 300 stalls. Also featuring some great entertainment, some previous acts include Brotherhood of Man, Mungo Jerry and Alvin Stardust, to name but a few. Visit this festival for all-day entertianment for all the family.

Isle of Wight International Scooter Rally - This scooter event for enthusiasts and othes alike offers a weekend full of activities with a final ride around the island.

11th - 18th
Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week - The oldest and largest annual sailing regatta in the World offers fantastic competitive racing for over 8,000 competitors and is usually visited by over 100,000 spectators for an all-round fantastic time. 15th - 18th

Ventnor Fringe Festival - Based on the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival, artists from all over the world will be taking part in this unique event. Artists for 2012 festival will be confirmed shortly.

2nd - 6th

V-Dub Island - This unique gathering is for Volkswagen owners and enthusiasts and boasts lots of fun for all the family including various events, old and new including 'show and shine' and 'cooking in a camper' for you to join in or just sit back and relax. Lots of fun for everyone and prizes too!! It is held at the County Showground, Northwood.

6th - 9th

The Bestival - This 3 day music festival presented by Radio1 DJ Rob da Bank offers everything from folk, rock and pop to suit all tastes. Last year's headliners included The Prodigy, Dizzee Rascal and Roxy Music.Great place to chill out and join in for all the family.

The Isle of Wight Cycling Festival - The Isle of Wight Cycling Festival offers a 70 mile route around parts of the Island offering breathtaking coastline. The Little Britain Challenge Cup Regatta - This annual, construction industry yachting regatta with over 200 yachts taking part is run by the construction industry and has made over £1m for sailing charities helping disadvantaged or disabled people experience the world of sailing. Charities benefiting from the funds include the Ellen MacArthur Trust and the Great Britain Paralympic Team amongst others.

Isle of Wight Autumn Walking Weekend - Enjoy ramling amongst the beautiful autumn colours with over fifty walks to suit all abilities. Contact Isle of Wight Council for more information.

Vintage Weekend, The Royal Hotel, Ventnor - Enjoy a glamourous weekend reliving the 1920's, 30's, 40's and 50's. The weekend will include the fabulous singer/pianist Liane Carroll and band, The Bovril Sisters and illusionist and magician Aaron Isted. There will be an Edwardian inspired gala dinner created by Chef Alan Staley.
